HBMAG Century Theatre

The Hawke's Bay Museum & Art Gallery exhibition galleries will close to the public on Sunday 25 July 2010 in order to prepare for HBMAG's upcoming 18 million dollar redevelopment project.

The Century Theatre and Cinema will remain open.

The Hawke's Bay Museum and Art Gallery housing the Century Theatre is Hawke's Bay's premier mid-sized venue, hosting regular programmes of music, meetings, lectures, cinema, dance, and drama.

The Century Theatre is located in the Museum complex between the Marine parade and Herschell Street, Napier. The entrances are at 9 Herschell Street and Marine Parade.

It has superb acoustics, air-conditioning and tiered seating for 330, and is host to both national and international conferences desiring an auditorium of this size, together with the special ambience of an architecturally designed theatre venue. Event/Conference facilities include a foyer/reception area for trade displays, registration desk, and cocktail functions. Access by ground floor/stairs to Theatre, wheelchair access to Theatre, catering includes morning/afternoon tea and cocktail functions, phone, fax, 16 and 35 mm movie and video projection, photocopier, e-mail, telephone line is available.
